Scott Harvey has had a long and illustrious career in the wine industry. As a European-trained winemaker, he began his career in 1974 and is considered (among his other accomplishments) a kingpin in establishing Amador County in the Sierra foothills as an internationally respected growing area. Over the years, Harvey has become known for his expertise in Zinfandel and now Barbera, claiming the Amador region has some of the best in the world. Today, Harvey continues to produce exceptional wines under the Scott Harvey Wines label, using fruit from his estate vineyard and other top sites in the region. Jana Harvey, along with her husband Scott, has been a critical partner in the development and success of Scott Harvey Wines. Scott remains a highly respected figure in the Amador County wine community and is known for his dedication to quality and his passion for winemaking.
Jana Harvey brings 35 years of sales and marketing experience to the wine industry. A transplanted Mid-Westerner who got bitten by the “wine bug,” she came to California in the early 80s. During the resurgence of the premium wine business, she has worked in pioneering brands with industry leaders such as Manfred Esser of Cuvaison and Roy and Walt Raymond of Raymond Vineyards. In the late 1990s, she met her perfect partner, Scott Harvey, and they started their own wine company, Scott Harvey Wines, in 2004.
Mollie began her journey into the wine world as a young adult. Growing up in the middle of the suburbs of Northern California, she was introduced to the idea of studying wine chemistry before leaving for college. While earning a BS in Enology and Wine Business from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Mollie worked in the laboratory of a large winery in Paso Robles. This helped to spark her love for the scientific side of wine production. After graduating, she took a position at a winery in Carneros, CA where she worked in both the cellar and the laboratory. From there, the ever-adventurous Mollie took advantage of the opportunity to work harvests in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand and in Stellenbosch, South Africa the following years before returning to Northern California and eventually landing at Scott Harvey Wines in 2015.
Mollie is passionate about the personal relationship that she has with the wines and the opportunity to see how the grapes from each vineyard turn into something unique and delicious over the aging process. Some of her favorite wines are the Jana Rose, the Tempranillo and pairing a lamb ragout with an older vintage Scott Harvey J&S Reserve Syrah, but it is no surprise that one of her favorite varietals to make has become Barbera.
You will often find Mollie in the lab, zipping around on the forklift, and always taking great care of the wines and winery itself. When she is not making exceptional wines, Mollie is found spending her time traveling, taking in live music performances and theater, and going out to a great meal with good friends and good wine.
Wine Club Manager
Born and raised in Sacramento, Amanda relocated to Hollister and turned her passion for wine into a career becoming Tasting Room Director and Wine Club Manager for a top rated winery in Morgan Hill. Her recent move to Calaveras County offered her an opportunity to meet Scott and Jana Harvey and become a part of the Scott Harvey Wines team. Besides getting to know Scott’s wines, Amanda’s favorite part of the transition has been getting to know the Griffin Society members.

With a background in Hospitality Sales and Management, as well as Event Planning, Melissa came to join Scott Harvey Wines in 2018 in search of new experiences while doing something ‘fun’. She immediately got bit by the wine bug, Her genuine desire to create exceptional experiences for guests has kept her driven to learn every aspect of the Wine Industry.
