Vineyard Notes
86% is grown in our estate vineyard at the winery in the Shenandoah Valley, Amador County. This vineyard is a high elevation decomposed granite soil. Extremely low yields from these highly stressed mountain vineyards produce first growth quality fruit. The harvest of 2019 produced a small crop (only 50%) of exceptional flavor. Grapes came in with small bunches and berry size allowing for a more extractive vintage.
