Winemaker Mollie Haycock
While working on her wine education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as a Wine and Viticulture major, Mollie worked in the lab at a large winery in Paso Robles, CA for two vintages. After graduating with a BS in both Enology (Wine Chemistry) and Wine Business, she took a position both in the cellar and the lab for a winery in Carneros, CA. From there, the ever-adventurous Mollie took advantage of the opportunity to work harvests in New Zealand and in South Africa the following years before returning to Northern California and eventually landing at Scott Harvey Wines in 2015.
Mollie is passionate about the personal relationship that she has with the wines and the opportunity to see how the grapes from each vineyard turn into something unique and delicious over the aging process. Some of her favorite wines are the Jana Rose of Barbera and pairing a lamb ragout with an older vintage Scott Harvey J&S Reserve Syrah, but it is no surprise that one of her favorite varietals to make has become Barbera.
You will often find Mollie in the lab, zipping around on the forklift, and always taking great care of the winery itself. When she is not making exceptional wines, Mollie is found spending her time traveling, taking in live music performances and theater, and going out to a really good meal with good friends and good wine.
