2019 Tempranillo
Vineyard/Vintage Notes: 100% from Amador County. Amador County is extremely well suited to Tempranillo. Coming from a similar climate area of Spain, Amador County is rapidly becoming known as one of the best wine growing regions in California for Tempranillo.
Winemaker’s Notes: Amador County Tempranillo produces small bunches of high extraction, perfect pH and flavors to produce world class varietal Tempranillo. 2019 had a cold wet period during flowering which produced a 50% crop. Bad news for the grower, but good news for the wine being made. Less crop produced higher flavor and more extractive wine.
Tasting Notes: Fruit forward, rich full flavors expressing both the varietal and the Amador Terroir. This complex spicy and floral wine has bright red cherry and a hint of menthol.
