Sweet and savory, this nut mix is a perfect accompaniment to our 2006 Forté.
6 cups mixed nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds, hazelnuts, etc.)
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 tsp. dried rosemary, finely minced
2 tsp. dried sage, finely minced
2 tsp. dried savory, finely minced
2 tsp. dried thyme, finely minced
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
Coarse Sea Salt and fresh black pepper
Preheat the oven to 350°. In a small bowl, combine the rosemary, savory, sage, thyme and cayenne pepper. In a large mixing bowl, combine the nuts with the maple syrup, olive oil and herb/spice mixture, toss well to thouroughly coat.
Spread the nuts on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Remove from the oven and season with salt and pepper, to taste. Stir frequently until cooled.
Make Ahead – Nut mix can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
