Bacon & Egg Pizza

Brunch or dinner, this recipe is perfect to pair with our dry Mendocino Riesling.

6 oz. thick-sliced bacon, cut crosswise into 1/3-inch lardons
4 large eggs
1 tbsp. heavy cream
Kosher salt
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1 lb. pizza dough
1/3 cup crème fraîche
3 oz. Brie, thinly sliced (with rind if desired)
2 oz. fresh mozzarella, shredded

Sautéed German Sausages with Bacon and Apple Sauerkraut

A hint of sweetness in this recipe nicely compliments our off-dry and flavorful Mendocino Old Vine Riesling.

1/4 cup vegetable oil
5 oz. thick-cut bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 very large onion, coarsely chopped
2 tbsp. off-dry white wine, such as Riesling
1 large sweet apple, such as Gala or Fuji, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
12 juniper berries
4 bay leaves
1/2 tsp. sugar
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1 cup water
2 1/2 lbs. sauerkraut – drained, rinsed and squeezed dry (4 packed cups)
12 German-style sausages, such as weisswurst or bratwurst
Grainy mustard, for serving

Balsamic-Marinated Steak and Unstuffed Mushrooms

A hearty and spicy meal perfect to accompany our equally robust Old Vine Zinfandel

One 2 to 2 1/2 lb., 1/2 inch thick London broil
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
4 cloves garlic, smashed
2 whole sprigs rosemary, plus 1 tsp. chopped leaves
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 strip bacon, chopped (about 1/2 ounce)
1 pound cremini mushrooms, halved
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tbsp. prepared and drained horseradish
1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
