Scott’s Sauerkraut

1 32 ounce jar sauerkraut (rinsed thoroughly)
1 yellow onion, chopped
3 whole cloves
5 strips of bacon, diced
1/2 red apple peeled, cored and cubed
1/2 cup dry Riesling

Fry bacon in a sauce pan for 5 minutes add onion and cook till browned. Add rinsed Sauerkraut and apple and stir thoroughly. Add cloves and dry Riesling, cover and turn heat to low. Cook for 1-2 hours or until apple is completely dissolved.
