Briary varietal Zinfandel. Deep raspberry, allspice, cloves and cinnamon, balanced with a center that is fleshy with hints of curry, and bright currants. Old Vine complexity and first growth quality.

A blend of the DeMille/Norton Vioneyard of the Shenandoah Valley and Steinberg Vineyard of Fiddletown, both in Amador County. 2006 ripened late letting the grapes han on the vine late inbto the fall. This allowed for full flavor maturity without extreme alcohol levels. Both the DeMille/Norton and steinberg vineyards produce small bunches of high extraction. The DeMille/Norton Vineyard was planted in the days when horses were still used for cultivation. These vineyards are non-irrigated, stand alone head pruned vines that express the Amador Zinfandel terrroir.
Produced in the old world style of balanced wine making. We want the wine to express the Amador Zinfandel terroir with good balance of fruit, French oak, structural tannins and medium alcohol.
