German Cheese Cake/Deutsche Kasse Kuchen

German cheese cakeFrom: Scott Harvey

Crust

Ingredients:
150g, 5.3oz, or 3/4 cup flour
80g, 2.8oz, or 6 Tbs. butter
1 egg
1 tsp of baking powder

Directions:
Mix ingredients together and put in greased spring form baking pan.

Filling

Ingredients:
500g, 1.1 lbs, or 18oz Quark (german cheese)
125g, 4.4oz, or 3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs separated
200g, or 7oz whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
1. Mix Quark, sugar and egg yolks. 2. Mix whipping cream with vanilla. 3. Meringue the remaining three egg whites until stiff. 4. Fold all together lightly and pour into the crust. 5. Bake at 320º F. or 320º C for 70 minutes until brown on top. 6. Turn oven down to 270º F. or 150º C. and bake for another 10 minutes.
