Starts out with cherry liquorish and cinnamon spice flowing into vanilla and tobacco with a mid palate of English hard candies and fresh straw. Soft tannins flow into a long sweet black plum finish. Perfect companion to nuts and a salty blue cheese.
Grown on steep mountainous terrain in the higher elevations of the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County, California.
60% Touriga National, 13% Tinta Cao, 13% Alvarelhao and 13% Sousao. 100% Amador County
Produced in the traditional Late Bottled Vintage Port style from 100% Portuguese varieties. Being a European trained winemaker, I will not use European appellation names such as Champagne and Port for wines we produce in California. Therefore, we have come up with the name Forté for our port style wine.
