If anyone thinks we have hard times in the wine industry now, one should read "Wine & War" by Don and Petie Kladstrup. It's all about the French, the Nazis and the battle for France's greatest treasure during WWII. It gives first hand accounts from many familar names of what the vintners experienced. It conveys the passion and love they had for their vineyards and their wine and what it took to hold on to them. The book made me really appreciate the glass of wine I was drinking as I read. It's a page turner.
